Posted on Melissa DVerified Great trip in a super versatile country! Super nice, great and well organized trip had by Do Guatemala (Better Places).Together with my mother we travelled through Guatemala for 3 weeks. Before the trip with Petra (talk Dutch) had a phone conversation to indicate what we wanted. The trip has been put together entirely to our liking. We have been to Antigua (climbed the Acetenango volcano), Lake Atitlan, Quetzaltenango, Lanquin, Flores, Tikal and Rio Dulce. What versatility and we enjoyed everything.Everything was arranged to perfection from transport, excursions, hotels. All the hotels were more than good. The people in Guatemala are so incredibly friendly. We can therefore definitely recommend Do Guatemala to have your trip put together by.You just have to go and enjoy everything Guatemala has to offer. Volcanoes, mountains, culture, jungle, maya temples, boat trips, too many to mention.Posted on Bas vVerified Do Guatemala is a great organisation who gave us a perfect experience in Guatemala. We really liked the quick communication via Whatsapp. They were very helpfull and kind. The whole time we had the feeling that we were in good hands.👌🏻 They had good suggestions and were very fast with booking extra excursions for us, even within the same day!Definitely would recommend Do Guatemala!Posted on TravelbugVerified So happy I found this company to book my trip the service was amazing We had a 12 day trip to Guatemala organised through Do Guatemala. Christian did an amazing job co-ordinating the transfers for us from airport to hotel, hotel to bus stations, pick up from bus stations to hotel and tours also organised around the country along with accommodation. The hotels were 3 stars comfortable and always in good central locations. Everything went so smoothly and the balance of travel days verses “down time” was perfect. He even organised a phone call allowing time difference as we live in Australia to get a better understanding of what we would like to do in Guatemala in the early stages of planning. Would absolutely recommend them!!Posted on Jacqueline PVerified An unforgettable private tour of Guatemala and Caye Caulker Compliments to Petra and the rest of the team at Do Guatemala. They have put together a very nice private tour for us. Overnight, transport and excursions top. Overnight with host family of Grizella very special to experience. Great food at her place. Have been to special places and ended up on Caye Caulker.Posted on Edwin KooimanVerified 21-Day Tour Guatemala Together with Petra from Do Guatamala we put together a beautiful 21-day tour through Guatemala. The contact was very smooth and enjoyable both during the preparation and during the trip itself! The chosen hotels , the transport along the way and the pre-booked excursions everything was right and was perfectly organized!Posted on Ronald WVerified Guatemala do? Do Guatemala! Let me start by giving a huge compliment to Petra from Do Guatemala. The trip, the program, was so well put together that we never got bored. The booked tours, the (private) drivers, the hotels, the cities, villages, nature and activities... it was one big chain of beautiful, colorful experiences. From day 1 (Antigua) you look out of your eyes. What a colorful country Guatemala is! And a very nice experience to dine with a local family in Antigua! A hike to the Pacaya volcano that we could already see in the morning, from the roof terrace of the hotel, was great. After Antigua by Lake Atitlan. By boat from Panjachel to San Juan la Laguna. What a fan-tas-tic hotel this is! A view over the lake.... the nice village of San Juan. After the visit of 2 more villages (private boat + guide) the day after we did another tour the day after with a (too young) local guide. Small point of criticism: the 22-year-old guide did not speak a word of English, isolated himself and told very, very little. Too bad...After this great place on to Xela. There is not much to do in the city, but the guide who took us to the hot springs Fuentes Georginas has, after consultation with us, adapted the program to our wishes: no glassworks, but strolling around a market in a small colorful village. Great! Stayed two nights with a local family. Super nice people who, unfortunately, didn't speak a word of English... From Xela on to Nebaj. A non-touristy town where locals sometimes look at you strangely...;). A nice hike of 9 km (!) with private guide to Cocop and Rio Azul. Time has stood still here.Enough markets, villages and locals seen the last few days and so it's time for some action! On to Lanquin where a walk awaits us to NP Semuc Champey. From the viewpoint a breathtaking view of the turquoise lagoons. In the afternoon a kind of canyoning through the caves. Cool! To conclude "tube" over the river. Also in Lanquin again a top accommodation!!After this spectacle on to Flores; tourist base for Tikal with all its Mayan temples. Flores is fun to stroll through. Our hotel was on the boulevard, however... the boulevard was completely flooded due to the high water level. The overnight stay in Tikal is amazing! Arriving at the jungle lodge, first blink twice. What a place to stay!! Unfortunately, because of the clouds, we didn't see a nice 'sunset' and a nice 'sunrise'. But the experience early in the morning at 4am, when the jungle awakens, is indescribable. After Flores/Tikal on to Rio Dulce/Livingston. Again, the hotel is only accessible by boat and the view is great again. What a wonderful atmosphere! The following day’s tour of Playa Blanca, Siete Altares and Livingston was, thanks in part to the guide, a great success! The last night in Guatemala City is a necessary evil. You don’t really want to be here, but there was no other way as our flight left at 07:00h. After such fantastic weeks in beautiful Guatemala, the capital is actually a place to skip.In short: a super well thought out and put together trip with culture, beautiful views, vistas, nature, sportsmanship and very nice people! Petra, thank you so much for this experience!! Thanks in part to you, this trip is in our top 3!Posted on Sarah TVerified A beautiful tour of Guatemala We did a fantastic three-week trip through Guatemala. This was well organized by Petra and her colleagues, there was a smooth response to how we wanted to complete our trip. The hotels, activities and transport matched our wishes and this allowed us to fully enjoy the trip. They were always easily accessible (especially when organizing and during the trip itself) for questions or tips. Highly recommended!Posted on Joella vVerified Excellent! I'm really happy I found Do Guatamala. We travelled with a baby of 7 months. Right before our trip, people started to scare us about the safety in the country. Being a new mum, it spooked me. Petra then took the time to assure me that Guatamala is a beautiful, and in many places, safe country. She also gave me ideas and options to make our travels easier. We ended up booking the transport through Do Guatamala and I'm so happy we did. All the drivers were on time, safe, reliable drivers and it made our lives so much easier. For expert advice and planning your trip, I would definately recommend Do Guatamala!Posted on Sightseer13911932947Verified Awesome❤️ Once again we enjoyed our trip in Guatemala. Petra, team, you are great. Everything well arranged and organised. ❤️Posted on Sarah WVerified 100% wonderful trip We absoluteluy recommend traveling with DoGuatemala! Petra and her colleagues organized such a wonderful trip for us! She catered perfectly to our specific needs and wishes concerning budget, way of travel, activities, rest, etc. It was all very well organized and worked smoothly. When we had a question, Petra always answered within minutes to reassure us or advise us. The guest families where we stayed were absolutely wonderful too! And all accommodations were beautiful and very welcoming. This trip and the country itself really exceeded our expectations. We loved that DoGuatemala is so truly thoughtful about how we can travel, while still sustaining local communities and the environment. And how well they listened to your needs and took away all possible worries or cares. All you have to do yourself, is enjoy!
