Services:
We worked out together per mail the whole 6 weeks, a combination of work, travel and classes. After i payed, Do Guatemala took care of all the reservations... read more (bus, taxi, hotel, classes, guest families, visits ...) and payed allready for the most, so i did not have to worry at that time about all that. Before i took off to Guatemala, i allready had a full scheme on paper. The whole time, everything was taken care of perfectly. They often called on the phone (or even visited me sometimes) to check if everything went according to plan. Their service is really upclose and personal and outstanding!
Facilities/rooms:
I stayed with 2 guest families, both warm and friendly people, also nice and clean places, where one could feel at home. I volunteered at a finca. There was a "volunteer house" with living room, bathrooms and bedrooms, volunteers consumed their meals in the homes of the families who lived there.
I volunteered at a wildlife center right in the jungle. Even though i was warned that facilities were 'very basic', it was much better than i expected. Basic indeed, but we had everything we needed.
The dorms and hotels they picked out for me were really fine, the one in Flores was even outstanding (Casa Amelia).
I have seen, learned, traveled and worked a lot in a few weeks, it was a great experience. All went well thanks to the perfect organization of Do Guatemala. I really can't say anything bad about them. The only thing that i would change the next time, is working a little less and sightseeing a little more, but hey, that was my decision ...
6/13/2016 Petra was amazing. She organized a 3 week medical rotation for me and worked with my school to make sure requirements were met. She was very organized and timely. She... read more went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed and was getting...More

Petra created a customized travel schedule for us taking into account our wishes and budget and this resulted in a program which was a great mix of culture, nature, adventure... read more and enough time for relaxing. Before the trip we had some constructive discussions by email and Skype how we can organize the trip and what is important when traveling through Mexico and Guatemala, especially with younger kids. Before the trip we got some of our vouchers and in the first week the remainder of the vouchers were delivered at the hotel. All accommodation, excursions and transport were per-arranged and this made the traveling very easy worry-free! During the trip we gave feedback to Petra about hotel accommodation and this was handled immediately and beyond expectations. Also possible program changes could be discussed and were handled in a swiftly matter.
Whenever you want to visit Guatemala (with kids) and you want to worry-free trip in which all of your wishes are taken into account then we strongly recommend booking this via Do Guatemala!! Thanks again Petra for organizing! More
